Anne Laval

アンヌ・ラヴァルは、1979年タヒチ島パペーテ生まれ。東フランスのストラスブール在住。
2005年にストラスブールの装飾芸術学校を卒業後、フランスや英国で絵本を出したり、児童向けの雑誌に装画を描きはじめる。パリや東京でも開催される子供服の見本市「Playtime」や、アルザスにあるイラストレーターの支援組織「Central Vapeur」のグラフィック等を担当。グループ展や個展でも作品を展示。色鉛筆、絵の具、インク、コラージュと、様々な画材をミックスし、手に汚れが残ったり、驚きやアクシデントが起こるような道具を好んで使用する。彼女の世界には、広大な風景と微細なディテールが溢れている。

Born 1979, Papeete, Tahiti. Lives and works in Strasbourg, Eastern France.
After graduating from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg in 2005, she began publishing picture books and drawing illustrations for children's magazines in France and the UK. She has worked on the children's clothing trade fair Playtime, which is also held in Paris and Tokyo, and on graphics for Central Vapeur, a support organisation for illustrators in Alsace. Her work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions. She mixes different drawing materials - coloured pencils, paint, ink and collage - and likes to use tools that leave smudges on her hands or cause surprises and accidents. Her world is full of expansive landscapes and minute details.
