Lionel Koechlin

リオネル・コクランは、パリ在住の絵本作家、イラストレーター。1972年から現在まで100冊以上の絵本 や大人向けの装画本を出している。1980年には ジェネシスのアルバム 「DUKE」のジャケットイラストを描いた。『Entre Chien et Chat (イヌと ネコの生活事情)』は短編アニメシリーズとしてフランスのTVチャンネルCANAL+ で放映、絵本『Père Noël est sans rancune』もアニメ化されTF1チャンネル他世界中のTVで放映された。広告やポスターも多く手がける。パトリス・ルコントの 映画「タンゴ」のポスターは、1994年のカンヌ映画祭で最優秀ポスター賞を受賞。1998年の東京国際ブックフェアに招待。繊細な線と優しいタッチ、大胆なデフォルメと明るい色彩で人気がある。好きなテーマは、サーカス、サッカー、街の建物など。

A Paris-based picture book author and illustrator, published more than 100 picture books and illustrated books for adults since 1972, he illustrated the cover of the Genesis album 'DUKE' in 1980."Entre Chien et Chat (The Life of a Dog and a Cat) " was broadcast as an animated series of short films on the French TV channel CANAL+, and the picture book "Père Noël est sans rancune" was broadcast as a short animation series on the TF1 channel and other TV channels worldwide. He has also worked on many advertisements and posters. His poster for Patrice Leconte's film "Tango" won the Best Poster Award at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and was invited to the 1998 Tokyo International Book Fair. He is popular for his delicate lines, gentle touch, bold forms and bright colours. His favourite subjects include circuses, football and city buildings.
